Usually science is split between two main groups, empirical science and formal science. Empirical sciences are your Biology, chemistry, physics, and so on that also could be called the natural sciences. Formal sciences on the other hand follow the same procedure but, are not in particular aiming the natural world for example, Mathematics, Computer Science, and Statistics. Formal sciences tend to give the models and applications which empirical sciences apply to attack the natural world.
